When is an anti-Zionist an anti-Semite?

If you criticise Israel you are not anti-Semitic, but if you only criticise Israel than you are. Many anti-Semites, such as Frank Weltner at JewWatch.com use the term "Zionist" as a euphemism for "Jew". When he says that the Zionists are controlling America, what he really means is the Jews. Anti-Semites have come to hide behind the more acceptable critique of Israel and Zionism, rather than come out and say what they really mean. I have no trouble with an even-handed treatment of human rights issues, but I would like to see advocates for Palestinian rights campaign for a boycott of Saudi Arabian oil and the myriad of Chinese products in response to their human rights records too. Once I see evidence of that, than I will believe that they are not singeling out Israel for special treatment. The best example of this double standard has to be the Lebanese Army's destruction of the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp with absolutely no international outcry or condemnation. Compare this to the coverage of Israel's response to Hezbollah a year ago and the double-standard becomes obvious.

What is an "ist"?

I made my new Youtube video in response to a comment made on my last one in which someone accused me of holding two passports and thus being untrustworthy or disloyal. It debates the question of whether one can support another country and still remain loyal to one's own, and has particular resonance with the usual accusations of dual-loyalty which are made against Zionists.

Now Israel staged the Dafur Genocide

According to Sudanese officials, reported on 9th July 2007 in Haaretz, Israel has staged the refugee crisis to tarnish their country's image. Sudan's Interior Minister Al-Zubair Bashir Taha was quoted as saying Israel is encouraging his country's citizens to emigrate to Israel to tarnish Khartoum's image. Bashir Taha dubbed the refugee crisis a "melodrama" manufactured by Israel, and threatened legal action against expatriated citizens who attempted to enter Israel. He added that some 3,000 Sudanese nationals try to reach Israel annually, of which 30 percent originate from the restive Darfur region, 40 percent come the predominantly Christian south and the rest from its northern areas. So much for Israel being an Apartheid state?

Bias of UK Media and Academia now in the Open

In many ways I am gratified that unions representing British academics and journalists have voted to boycott Israel. It is finally an open admission of bias towards the Jewish state, and there is no longer any need to engage in the continual charade of denial and counter accusation. They are anti-Zionist and proud of it. Clearly objectivity is no longer a prerequisite for British journalism or academia.

Lebanon learns a lesson in hypocrisy

The United Nations and the world community should totally condemn the killing of innocent Palestinians by the ruthless army of...ummm...er....Lebanon?
What a fascinating turn of events. It is suddenly understandable for the Lebanese Army to target the Islamic militants of Fatah al-Islam who are hiding out amongst the civilian population of Nahr al-Bared, but of course, unacceptable when it's Hezbollah using the villages of Southern Lebanon to attack Israel. I await the chorus of condemnation from the international media and Arab League denouncing these obvious war crimes.
